Optical detection of acoustics waves

We develop in the team optical techniques to detect photo-acoustic signals. Optical detection has the advantage of being non-contact and wideband compared to a piezoelectric detection. Our goal is to optically detect acoustic waves of low amplitude (some Kpa) at frequencies ranging from a hundred kHz to several tens MHz. For this we develop a point-measurement technique based on the Laser Optical Feedback Imaging (LOFI) method and a full-field imaging technique.
