[INTERNE] Neutron techniques for the investigation of molecular dynamics

Résumé : As neutrons have no electrical charge, they are a useful tool to study condensed and soft matter properties as they can penetrate deeply into it. Incoherent neutron scattering techniques give access to information about atomic motions at a sub-nanosecond time scale. Such molecular dynamics proofed to be of paramount importance for the functioning of biomolecules in addition to their three-dimensional structure. The scattering technique will be introduced. Then I will present some examples of applications, including investigations of the influence of high pressure effects on whole cells from the deep sea and on the natural nanoparticles lipoproteins.
